Configuring your Windows CE handheld device
This document shows you how to configure your Windows CE palmtop (HPC) device to connect to CoreComm Internet.

Before we begin, you should have your modem hardware connected (if it's not built into the device), and the HPC on an AC adapter (batteries drain very quickly if they are powering a modem and you're using Internet applications).

STEP ONE
Open your Start Menu, then point to Programs, then Communication, then tap on Remote Networking.

Once in the Remote Networking window, double tap on Make New Connection.

STEP TWO
First, you'll be prompted to enter a name for the connection.  Enter in "CoreComm".  Make sure "Dial-up Connection" is selected and tap Next.

STEP THREE
Now you'll be prompted for dialup modem, TCP/IP, and dialup number settings.

Enter your local CoreComm Internet dial-up number, make sure the modem is selected, and then click on TCP/IP Settings.

STEP FOUR
First, make sure the check boxes on the left side of the screen reflect the image below.

You'll also need to un-check "Server Assigned name server addresses" on the right side, and enter in the Primary and Secondary DNS numbers as shown here.

Primary DNS:209.153.128.4
Secondary DNS:169.207.1.3

When finished, tap OK at the top of the screen.

STEP FIVE
You'll now see the CoreComm connection we've just created appear in the list of connections.  Double-tap on the CoreComm icon to connect.

STEP SIX
Enter in your username and password, and tap Connect.  You'll see a window showing the status of your connection pop up, and tell you when you're online.

To disconnect, you can click Cancel from this dialog, or while holding down on the Alt key, tap on the connection icon that appears in your taskbar near the clock and select Disconnect.
