News Reader Setup
Below are instructions for setting up several popular news readers with CoreComm's News Servers via E-Mail/Password Authentication.

Outlook Express

  • Open Outlook Express.
  • Click on your Tools menu and select Accounts.
  • Click on the Add button, and select News.
  • Fill in the requested information, such as your name and E-Mail address. When it asks for your News (NNTP) server, enter:
        news-radius.core.com
  • Check the box that says, "My server requires authentication"
  • Put in your full E-Mail address as the username and your password
  • Click on Next, then on Finish.

Netscape 4.7x

  • Open Netscape.
  • Click on your Edit menu and select Preferences.
  • Under the Mail and Newsgroups section, select Newsgroup Servers.
  • Click on the Add button.
  • Where it says News Server, enter:
        news-radius.core.com
  • Select "Always ask me for my username and password".
  • Click "OK", then "OK" again

Free Agent

  • Select the Options menu, then User and System Preferences.
  • Under the User Profile tab, check "Login with a username and password".
  • Enter your E-Mail address in the "Username" field and check "Remember Password between sessions".
  • Enter your password in the "Password" field.
  • Under the "System" tab, enter news-radius.core.com as the News Server
  • Click "Ok"
