News Reader Setup
Below are instructions for setting up several popular news readers with CoreComm's News Servers via E-Mail/Password Authentication.
Outlook Express
- Open Outlook Express.
- Click on your Tools menu and select Accounts.
- Click on the Add button, and select News.
- Fill in the requested information, such as your name and E-Mail address. When it asks for your News (NNTP) server, enter:
news-radius.core.com
- Check the box that says, "My server requires authentication"
- Put in your full E-Mail address as the username and your password
- Click on Next, then on Finish.
Netscape 4.7x
- Open Netscape.
- Click on your Edit menu and select Preferences.
- Under the Mail and Newsgroups section, select Newsgroup Servers.
- Click on the Add button.
- Where it says News Server, enter:
news-radius.core.com
- Select "Always ask me for my username and password".
- Click "OK", then "OK" again
Free Agent
- Select the Options menu, then User and System Preferences.
- Under the User Profile tab, check "Login with a username and password".
- Enter your E-Mail address in the "Username" field and check "Remember Password between sessions".
- Enter your password in the "Password" field.
- Under the "System" tab, enter news-radius.core.com as the News Server
- Click "Ok"
