Changing Your User Name
Windows NT 4.0

You can follow these instructions for changing your user name in Windows NT 4.0. For assistance with a different operating system, please see the listing of documented platforms. If you need further assistance, please contact our Technical Support department.

My Computer Desktop Icon From the Windows Desktop, double-click on the My Computer icon. (shown right)


From the My Computer window, double-click on Dial-Up Networking.

Once in the Dial-Up Networking window, you should see an icon labeled as your CoreComm connection. Double-click on this icon.

Click on the More button.

Click on Edit entry and modem properties...

Click on the Security tab, then click on Unsave password. The label on the button should turn grey. Click on OK to close this window.

This will take you back to the Dial-Up Networking window. Click on Dial, which will show a prompt for your user name, password, and domain.

'Connect' Window


Add @core.com after the presently entered user name. (example: if your current user name is john, change your user name to john@core.com) The password remains the same. Domain should be blank. Check Save Password if you desire, then click on OK to connect. The new information should then be saved and in the future you can connect in the same manner as you had previously.
